February 14, 2012 - The Celebration of the Merit Kitchen, Mahawong

Several SILC members attended this special morning to celbrate the opening of the new kitchen at Mahawong Preschool, including Shirley and Sarah seen here above, along with the other sponsors of the kitchen.  SILC dontated 40,000 THB towards the kitchen.  Mahawong staff now have a lovely professional kitchen with excellent cooking facilities and sinks, much better than the area they were cooking in before.

The children put on lovely dances for us, each of the little chefs wearing an apron that featured a different fruit, vegetable or cooking utensil.  The elder women who also use the centre did a special dance featuring the signs of the Chinese zodiac.

Each of the sponsors gave a short speech to the audience. Sarah, as our Chairman, made her speech on behalf of SILC in Thai.  This was very well received by the audience and other sponsors.  Well done Sarah!
