Great Restaurant
We like to take guests here the night after they've had a splashout meal at Vertigo or the Oriental -- just to prove that Bangkok is a city of contrasts and you don't need to spend a fortune to get really good food. OK so this little Indian restaurant is not going to compare in terms of location (hidden down a lo-so sub soi that starts with a tattoo parlour) or in terms of decor (very basic with all year round tinsel) but that's the point. The staff are friendly and attentive (even if the owners watch Bollywood movies with headphones on!) and if something isn't quite what you want, they happily advise and adapt the menu. Allegedly their cooking methods are as healthy as Indian food gets, certainly it seems that they use less oil than most. Great for veggies like me as well as the carnivore majority. And yes, it's super value so you don't really need any excuse to go. Easily found by walking down Sukhumvit soi 8 and taking first turn on left (usually they have a Namaskaar sign on display).
